Client work 9 illustrators and designers were inspired by and interpreted the drawings of refugee children that were placed in a refugee transit center in Oslo, Norway. The drawings show the children's hopes, fears and tell stories of their journeys and impressions of their surroundings and potential new homeland. The artists interpretations of these drawings have been placed upon skateboards - both a toy and a mode of transport that is gender neutral - and were exhibited from 4 - 6 December 2016 in Oslo, Norway. The skateboards were sold and the proceeds went to the Norwegian Red Cross.

A helping hand // Flip the script

The illustration portrays both desperation and hope. Reaching out and asking for help is always hopeful, even if it comes from a place of fear, loss, sorrow and desperation. The child refugees have witnessed and gone through horrors few of us can even imagine, yet their drawings have glimmers of love and of hope.

It is my personal hope that humanity will persevere and come together to help those in need. And that, perhaps, one day we will live in a world where there are more people willing to help than there are people in need of it.
